Privacy Policy

Exode20 (exode20.com) is a personal website run by Sonia Callegaro, publishing articles on the Bible and Christian living. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site collects, why it collects it, and what happens to it. The short version: the site collects very little, sells nothing, and only asks for what a given feature actually needs.
Comments
When you leave a comment on an article, the site asks for a name and an email address alongside your comment. The name and the comment are published on the article page. Your email address is never published and never shared — it exists so that a reply can reach you and so that abusive submissions can be dealt with.
Newsletter
Subscribing to the newsletter stores your email address so the site can send you new articles and occasional updates. It is used for nothing else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; one click removes your address from the list, and you can also ask for removal through the contact page.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form include your name, email address and message. They are used only to read and answer your message. Writing in does not subscribe you to anything.
Preferences stored in your browser
The site remembers two choices in your browser's local storage: your theme (light or dark) and your preferred language. These values stay on your device, are never sent to a server, and are not used to track you. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Analytics
To understand which articles are read, the site may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (such as Plausible), which count visits in aggregate without identifying individual visitors. If Google Analytics is enabled, Google may set cookies and process usage data under its own privacy policy; analytics data is only ever used to understand how the site is read, never to identify you personally.
Advertising
The site may display third-party advertisements, for example through Google AdSense. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your interests and your previous visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in Google's Ads Settings, and you can read how Google handles data from sites that use its services on the "How Google uses information" page.
Embedded content and external links
Articles sometimes link to, or embed content from, other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly: that site may collect data about you, set its own cookies, and apply its own privacy policy. This policy covers only exode20.com.
How long data is kept, and your rights
Published comments stay with their articles. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept only as long as the correspondence needs.
You can ask at any time what information the site holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — a comment taken down, an address removed, a message erased. The contact page is the way to do that, and such requests are honoured without fuss.
Where the site is hosted
The site is served by Vercel and its data is handled by a backend hosted on Railway. Depending on where you are, this means the data described above may be processed on servers in the European Union or the United States by these hosting providers, acting on the site's behalf.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts collecting something new — a different analytics tool, a new advertising partner — this page will be updated and the date at the top changed. Significant changes will be noted in the newsletter. Questions about any of this are welcome through the contact page.
